Last Friday was an incredibly fun day of learning about our country of study, India. Lee Hall remains decorated as a replica of this beautiful country. We began the day with an opening ceremony which featured Mr. Mancke. The kindergarteners were treated to several foods that are traditionally served in India. We participated in a variety of projects throughout the day such as making dance sticks, mining for diamonds, constructing peacocks and learning a popular Indian dance. The finale of the day was given by the fourth grade as they performed The Jungle Book.
What a treat! It was a great day, and we want to thank the terrific volunteers for making this special learning experience possible.

Be sure to ask your kindergartener how much the penny, nickel, dime and quarter are worth. Practice counting nickels by 5's and dimes by 10's to make a dollar! Below you will find the Dollar Poem that we are currently practicing. See if your child can recite all of the coin poems that we have studied.

It's really kind of funny.
It's all about coins-
